CEBU CITY Davao City Mayor Sebastian Baste Duterte urged Cebuano lawmakers to junk the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte. He claimed that some members of the House of Representatives were offered incentives, including P200 million worth of infrastructure projects, in exchange for their vote to impeach his sister.
The mayor made the appeal on Sunday, May 10, during the launch of the Reform Alliance for Accountability, Good Governance and Ethics in Cebu City.
The House will vote on the Articles of Impeachment against the vice president on Monday, May 11.
Mayor Duterte alleged that in addition to the P200 million worth of infrastructure projects, lawmakers were being offered P3 million monthly for 12 months under Maintenance and Other Operating Expense and an upfront P20 million for their support to the impeachment bid.
