Members of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) renewed an outdoor tradition Saturday afternoon as they strapped on the skates to host the annual McCauley Cup.

The event was established in 2009 as a way to draw together police and inner-city youth and has garnered support from the Oilers Entertainment Group, Edmonton Police Foundation, McCauley Community League among others.

The McCauley Cup has become a staple in our community and showcases how Canadas game truly brings us all together, EPS Chief Warren Driechel said in a news release.

The friendly competition featured the EPS Downtown Beats team facing off with what police describe as some of the most energetic and youthful competition our city has to offer.
