The heartfelt message quickly resonated with fans, many of whom grew up watching Vosloo portray the unforgettable Imhotep in the blockbuster The Mummy franchise.

Who is Arnold Vosloo?

South African-born actor Arnold Vosloo is best known globally for playing the iconic villain Imhotep in The Mummy (1999) and The Mummy Returns (2001). Over the years, he has also appeared in several Hollywood films and television projects, earning recognition for his commanding screen presence and memorable antagonist roles.

A Powerful Antagonist for a Grand Historical Spectacle

The film, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, is set against the backdrop of colonial India between 1854 and 1878 and promises a story inspired by lesser-known chapters of resistance from that era. Industry reports describe it as a historical action drama rather than a biographical account, blending fictional storytelling with period elements.

Arnold Vosloo’s casting as Sir Theodore Hector signals the scale the filmmakers are aiming for. Promotional material identifies him as a senior British Raj officer whose presence is expected to intensify the central conflict in Ranabaali. Alongside Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, the film features a multinational ensemble and is backed by Mythri Movie Makers, with music composed by Ajay–Atul.
