Weather warnings issued for these 3 provinces

Friday, 12 December, is shaping up to be a wet and windy one across parts of South Africa. The South African Weather Service issued an Orange Level 5 Warning for severe thunderstorms. Expect heavy rains that could lead to flooding of roads, bridges, low-lying areas, and even urban or rural settlements. The western parts of Free State and North West are likely to see the brunt of this. You will need to keep your umbrella handy or, better yet, stay indoors.

KWAZULU-NATAL

In KZN, theres a Yellow Level 1 Warning for the extreme south. Severe thunderstorms could bring heavy downpours, strong winds, lightning, and hail, causing localised flooding on susceptible roads. Elsewhere in the province, it will be partly cloudy and warm to hot, with isolated showers and thundershowers, mainly in the south.

DURBAN

It will be partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers. You can expect temperatures between 21C and 32C.

NORTH WEST

Expect it to be partly cloudy, windy, and warm, with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers.

MAHIKENG

In Mahikeng, it will be partly cloudy, windy, with isolated showers and thundershowers. Temperatures will sit around 17C to 29C.

FREE STATE

A mix of clouds and wind will make it cool to warm, with scattered to widespread showers and thundershowers, mainly in the western parts.

BLOEMFONTEIN

In Bloem, it will be partly cloudy and windy, with widespread showers and thundershowers. You can expect the temperature to range between 18C to 25C.
